IShowSpeed has blasted through another massive YouTube milestone, breaking the 50 million subscriber mark on his 21st birthday.

When YouTube first started becoming a legitimate career path for some, just getting to 1 million subscribers was the dream. You’d get the golden play button and cement yourself as one of the top creators around. However, that has significantly changed over the last few years.

As the likes of PewDiePie, MrBeast, Cocomelon, and the Stokes Twins have proven, you can very comfortably break the 100 million subscriber mark these days. It’s something that IShowSpeed has been working towards for a few years, too.

The streaming star, whose massive streaming tours have brought more and more eyes to his channel, has celebrated some massive milestones with fans. However, he’s broken the biggest yet on his 21st birthday.

During his stream in Nigeria, Speed finally surpassed the 50 million subscriber mark while standing on top of a car in stopped traffic with a cake to mark the occasion.

The YouTuber noted he is “halfway” to his goal of joining the 100 million subscriber club too.

“Let’s go! 50 million!,” he added. “50 million on my birthday. This is the best birthday gift I could ask for. I love y’all so much. There’s nothing I could ask for that’s better than this, chat.”

Unlike all of the channels ahead of him, Speed is the only one who is primarily a streamer on YouTube. Every other channel makes big videos, uploads daily, or is part of a wider media network for musicians and creatives.

Speed led the way throughout 2025, having more 64.1 million hours of watch time on his streams. This was almost 20 million more than second-placed Gaules. He was only beaten by DjMariiO on the YouTube Gaming side of things when it comes to peak viewership too.

While YouTube is his main outlet, Speed has returned to Twitch in the last few months, too. He has more than 3.2 million followers on the Amazon-owned platform, averaging more than 30,000 viewers so far throughout his African tour.
