Invisible Narratives has issued a statement addressing rising concerns about Skibidi Toilet creator DaFuqBoom’s involvement in the series, following widespread community allegations and the trending #bringboomback movement.
The clarification comes after fans circulated screenshots that appeared to show the creator discussing loss of control, financial issues, and frustration with recent production developments.
In a statement to Dexerto, Invisible Narratives provided additional context about the partnership between the studio and creator Alexey Gerasimov.
Skibidi originates from machinima web series Skibidi Toilet that’s since taken on many meanings.
According to the company, after two years of collaboration, Gerasimov approached Invisible Narratives “with the decision to sell his channel and transition out of the nonstop grind,” describing the workload of animating every episode and maintaining the public-facing presence of the series. However, the creator wanted more freedom while staying involved creatively.
Company says Gerasimov remains executive producer
They further stated that Gerasimov now serves as an executive producer on Skibidi Toilet. Invisible Narratives says this means the creator is “overseeing the creative direction of the series, reviewing all episodes, and helping guide the storytelling.” Additionally, Gerasimov is currently set to direct four episodes scheduled for release next year.
The statement contrasts with messages circulating online that appear to show the creator expressing concerns over delays, limited communication, and lack of involvement.
Those screenshots have fueled the #bringboomback campaign, where community members are calling for greater transparency about his role.
Invisible Narratives clarifies Michael Bay’s involvement
They also clarified that Michael Bay does not own Invisible Narrative, adding that Bay participates as a creative advisor.
Bay’s name was widely referenced in viral posts, with some users incorrectly identifying him as the company’s owner.
As of now, Gerasimov has not released a public statement addressing the allegations or the company’s response. The #bringboomback movement continues circulating within the community as fans react to the new information.
CEO says burnout played a role in the creator’s decision to sell
In a statement to IGN, Invisible Narratives CEO and founder Adam Goodman addressed the workload behind Skibidi Toilet and the pressures placed on its creator.
Goodman said, “YouTube is one of the best things that’s ever happened for creative people. Being able to make outrageously creative content without gatekeepers is exactly what Hollywood needs. That said, burnout is real. This type of series output is nearly inconceivable for any solo creator, and animation is exponentially more difficult.
“What Alexey has been doing for years is the work of a superhero. Crafting episode after episode, year after year, almost entirely on his own, is the kind of output most animation studios with full teams can’t match.”
Goodman added that creators face intense scrutiny when producing high-visibility work at a rapid pace. “Nobody can work that hard with so much public scrutiny and not take a break. Alexey deserves space — real space — to breathe, recharge, and rediscover what inspires him next.
“And whatever that next chapter is, in whatever direction he chooses to explore, people will show up for it. He’s earned that. We’d love to have the fans celebrate what he’s built. Let Alexey take a much-deserved break and come back swinging with what he continues to work on with us and his other projects.”
