Influencer Sara Bennett has died at 39 years old, three years after being diagnosed with ALS, leaving behind a final message to her followers that she shared on Instagram.

Bennett announced her own death in a January 13 post, writing that she was no longer in pain and felt at peace in her final moments. “I am not in pain, or tired. I can laugh, talk, and I can move,” she wrote alongside a remembrance card and photo. “Reflecting in my last few months of my life, I am glad I didn’t go suddenly even WITH the suffering. I finished my list.”

She added a reflection on death and legacy, telling followers that even without belief in an afterlife, she found meaning in returning to the earth. “I loved this life, and am grateful for the time.”

Bennett was diagnosed with ALS in March 2023. At the time, she had already built an online following after launching her professional organization business, The Ananda Edit, in 2020. Following her diagnosis, she renamed her platform to TheAnandaPivot, choosing to document her illness rather than step away from social media.

“My world turned upside down,” she explained in May 2024. “When I thought about my business, I felt like deleting the account and stepping away. But… that would just be one more thing this disease was taking from me.”

In the months leading up to her death, Bennett openly shared reflections on marriage, parenting, and the afterlife, which she referred to as “the after.” This included organizing an end-of-life ceremony and writing out holiday traditions that she delegated to friends and family. The goal, she said, was to keep her loved ones connected and to give her husband additional support.

“My platform gave me the chance to keep using my voice, to continue teaching, and to help others,” Bennett wrote in a November blog post on Her ALS Story. “I was intentional and turned my unfathomable sorrow into late-night brainstorms.”

She closed that post with a line that now reads as a farewell. “Be good to each other and love the sh*t out of your life.”
