Indiana Jones stunt show boulder hits cast member during Disney performance

A cast member was injured during a performance of the Indiana Jones stunt show at Walt Disney World after a large prop boulder malfunctioned and struck them on stage.

The incident occurred during a recent performance of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, which features a rolling boulder in its opening sequence as part of a choreographed stunt. Video shared online shows the prop veering off its intended path and rolling toward the audience area.

A cast member ran in front of the boulder in an apparent attempt to stop or redirect it and was hit in the process. The performer fell to the ground and appeared to suffer a head injury, with witnesses on Reddit reporting visible bleeding. The cast member was later seen walking off under their own power as the show was stopped.

Show halted as video circulates online

Footage of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms, including TikTok and Reddit, drawing attention to the accident. Guests in attendance said the performance was immediately halted and park staff moved to secure the stage area following the incident.

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is a live attraction at Walt Disney World that showcases stunt work and practical effects inspired by the Indiana Jones film franchise. The rolling boulder sequence is one of the show’s most recognizable moments and has been part of the attraction for decades.

According to Scott Gustin on X, Disney says their safety team is reviewing the incident and that the injured staff member recieved immediate care and is recovering.
