Rainbolt is known as one of the greatest Geoguessr pros on the planet with an uncanny ability to guess near-exact locations with minimal clues and visual guides.

Thanks to his unique talents, he’s racked up millions of followers across multiple social media platforms, where fans occasionally ask him to track down certain areas for various reasons.

One of these fans sent Rainbolt an emotional request to help her find the spot where her grandfather’s ashes had been scattered by his friends. He died in the 80s, and his buddies gathered together to spread his ashes in a desert, where they left one of his bowling balls as a tribute to his legacy.

In March 2025, the fan’s grandmother also died, and asked that her ashes be spread in the same place as her husband’s — but no one could remember where the exact location was after all these years.

Touched by her request, Rainbolt set to work. Using the few photos she had provided him, he sent her the coordinates to where he guessed the bowling ball might be. Her family set out on a mission to see if these coordinates were correct… and in true Rainbolt fashion, they were.

“While finding a bowling ball in the middle of the desert seems impossible, it’s only impossible until someone does it,” the Geoguessr legend said. “…Forty years later, the bowling ball is still there. Betty and Bob were able to be together once again.”

The video, uploaded to TikTok on August 13, 2025, has racked up nearly three million views as fans flood the comments section with remarks like, “We made the right person famous.”

“One of the best use of niche skills on the internet,” one viewer said.

“You can tell he’s genuine in this too, because he didn’t give some villain monologue or tutorial on how he found the spot, he just told the story and helped a family find closure,” another wrote.

While this particular interaction was extremely wholesome, Rainbolt is known for tracking down spots like restaurants or businesses that people “gatekeep” from others online for fun.

For instance, he uncovered a “10/10” pizza spot that a New Yorker had wanted to keep private after Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy exposed his last joint during a pizza review video.

In response to the gatekeeper’s post, Rainbolt posted the exact coordinates of the pizza spot — and despite the frustrating turn of events, they found the situation “beyond amusing.”
