A former McDonald’s chef has a big worry about the change in price to combo meals, urging customers to keep an eye on a few other popular choices.
On August 20, McDonald’s reached an agreement with U.S. franchise operators to cut the price of eight popular combo meals across the United States.
These eight meals will have their prices reduced by around 15%, with a $5 breakfast choice and an $8 Big Mac or McNuggets combo also being added. The price changes are set to start rolling out across the United States as of September 2025.
Naturally, McDonald’s have been delighted by the news, especially as the cost of certain combos has hit almost $20 in some states. However, former McDonald’s chef Mike Haracz does have a few concerns about it.
McDonald’s might quietly change other items
The former McDonald’s corporate chef, who has used TikTok as a way to spill secrets and tips about the Golden Arches, wants fans to keep an eye out for other exclusives being pulled.
“You’re gonna want to keep track of regular menu prices, the app deals they have usually been providing for most folks, because I assure you those are going to change as well,” he said.
“They do not talk about that stuff, they’re hoping that you don’t notice, but we’re going to notice.”
Haracz also pointed to comparisons between other chains and different value offerings from McDonald’s, including the Daily Double, calling some of them “overpriced.”
Some fans claimed that they’ve noticed some app-exclusive offers having disappeared already. “I’ve already noticed a couple months ago the app-only” deals are not as good,” one said. “All the app deals said expired, the other day when I looked at the app,” another added.
“They’re not even lowering the prices significantly enough for me to care,” another chimed in.
