Twitch star Emiru left her viewers disgusted and comparing her to Asmongold after she revealed why she doesn’t shower, but insists she still smells good.

On January 3, Emiru was celebrating her birthday on stream and started opening presents, taking some lush soap out of a package.

“I do love taking baths,” she said. “Chat, can I admit something? I only take baths. I don’t shower… I don’t like showers.”

According to the streamer, sometimes she’ll take multiple baths a day to avoid feeling dirty – something she says she “hates.”

When her viewers reacted negatively, calling her “stinky,” Emiru shot back, arguing that showers “didn’t exist until like 30 years ago.”

In actuality, the ancient Greeks and Romans had forms of showering thousands of years ago. The Egyptians even had dedicated shower rooms in which ceramic jugs filled with water would be poured on them.

The first modern shower dates back to 1767, when English stove maker William Feetham of Ludgate Hill introduced the concept.

His patented indoor design featured a basin, an overhead water tank, a hand pump, and a chain that allowed users to release water from above. However, showering didn’t become a mainstream daily habit until the early 1980s, when it finally caught on with the general public.

In any case, Emiru continued on, insisting that despite only taking baths, people still say she smells good.

“How can you bathe in filth when there’s no filth to bathe in?” the Twitch star added. “I don’t even really get dirty. I don’t go outside and then I take two baths a day and then I rinse off in the bath.”

Commeters, however, weren’t impressed and jokingly called her Asmongold’s “soulmate” because of his lackluster cleanliness.

Earlier this year, Asmongold revealed he finally cleaned his infamous streaming setup – a grueling task that took three hours and resulted in him finding at least five rotten burritos.

Infamously, in 2025, Asmongold claimed he was “beginning to evolve” by going three months without showering, claiming his skin was the healthiest it had ever been.
