Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, the oldest son of famous former footballer David Beckham, has revealed why he no longer wants to have a relationship with either of his parents in a lengthy Instagram post.

Rumors had been swirling for years about a possible feud between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, first sparking after his wedding to actress Nicola Peltz in 2022.

At the time, reports claimed that Nicola had refused to wear one of Victoria’s wedding dress designs, instead choosing a Valentino Couture gown that ignited a fervor from tabloids.

In the years that followed, the couple seemingly distanced themselves from the Beckham family on social media, raising concerns from fans that a rift had occurred within their ranks.

On January 19, 2026, Brooklyn came clean about his rocky relationship with his family, sharing his version of events in a massive post on his Instagram stories that instantly went viral.

Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham lifts the lid on famous family rift

Brooklyn began his post by making it clear that he has no desire to reconnect with his family, accusing them of going to the press with “controlled narratives” and “countless lies” at the expense of “innocent people to preserve their own facade.”

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote.

Brooklyn notably accused his parents of trying to “hijack” his 2022 wedding, claiming that his mother, former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, had danced on him inappropriately and ruined his first dance with his wife.

“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We [want] to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” he explained.

He also claimed that his mother was responsible for canceling Nicola’s initial wedding dress design. He alleged that she put the kabosh on the project “in the eleventh hour,” despite how “excited” Nicola was to wear the design, forcing her to “urgently find a new dress.”

Perhaps most damning is Brooklyn’s claim that his parents had attempted to “bribe” him to sign over his rights to the Beckham family name before his wedding.

“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,” he said.

Brooklyn also alleged that his parents valued the “Beckham brand” over an actual relationship with him, saying they had allegedly spread negative stories about him to the media and had refused to see him for David’s 50th birthday unless Nicola was absent.

“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he finished his post.

Thus far, neither David nor Victoria have come forward with a statement in response to Brooklyn’s post, which is stirring up a heated debate online among fans as to whose side they’re on.
