One of the biggest sports video game franchises in the world has quietly removed a song by D4vd from its latest release as a high-profile murder investigation continues.

The singer’s track ‘What Are You Waiting For’ is no longer included on the soundtrack for Madden NFL 26, according to TMZ, despite originally being part of the game when it launched in August.

The song had appeared on the in-game playlist alongside artists like BIA and Alex Warren. It has since been removed, with no public explanation from EA Sports.

Song removed amid ongoing investigation

The removal comes as the death investigation involving Celeste Rivas remains active. Rivas’ body was discovered inside a Tesla that had been towed to an impound lot after being found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. Authorities later confirmed the vehicle belonged to D4vd.

Back in November, investigators revealed that they are looking at the singer in connection with Rivas’ death.

A grand jury was convened last month and has reportedly been hearing witness testimony. Sources said the grand jury is expected to vote on potential indictments, with D4vd believed to be facing possible charges.

The 20-year-old artist has previously collaborated with major gaming platforms. He worked with Fortnite, including having created the game’s official 2025 anthem titled Locked and Loaded.
