Singer D4vd is now considered a suspect in the ongoing death investigation involving a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to him.
D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, has been under scrutiny since September, when the decomposing remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez were discovered in the front trunk of his towed Tesla at a Hollywood impound lot.
The vehicle had been abandoned on a Los Angeles street before being impounded, prompting officers to respond to reports of a foul odor.
D4vd named suspect in Celeste Hernandez case
According to information obtained by ABC News from law enforcement sources, D4vd is now a suspect in the case. However, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
Investigators have not yet received an official cause or manner of death from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Reports indicate Hernandez’s body was dismembered, and the process of disposal likely involved more than one individual. Detectives have reportedly contacted multiple people they believe may have information about the case.
Investigators also said they expect the Medical Examiner to finalize findings soon, which will help determine potential charges and whether an arrest will be made.
Authorities previously searched a Los Angeles residence where D4vd had been living at the time, and sources told ABC News that the singer is allegedly not cooperating with detectives. Repeated requests for comment from the artist’s representatives and legal team have received no response.
D4vd had been on his Withered world tour when the body was discovered, leading to the cancellation of remaining North American shows and the entire European leg. Promotion for his planned album release was also paused following the discovery.
