A Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End cosplayer leapt into action to extinguish a fire after a blaze broke out at a shopping mall in Vietnam.
Cosplayers aren’t exactly the type of people you’d expect to take action in serious situations, but one man is challenging those conceptions.
On January 25, a cosplayer named Tuấn Dũng was dressed up as Himmel from Frieren for an event at a shopping mall.
Suddenly, a stage light reportedly overheated, starting a fire. Luckily, Dũng wasted no time and took swift action, even before the event staff or mall personnel could.

In footage posted to social media and shared by the Himmel cosplayer, Dũng grabbed a fire extinguisher and proceeded to put out the blaze.
Video shows the cosplayer aiming the fire extinguisher at the burning light and letting rip as others watched in amazement. He then started helping shoppers and attendees by moving their carts out of the area.
On Facebook, he explained the situation and why he took action writing, “Near the stage, there was a fire near the spotlights. Seeing this, I applied my fire safety knowledge to handle the situation and prevent the fire from spreading.”
“This shows that everyone needs knowledge of fire safety to be able to handle unexpected situations like this.”
Fans were impressed with the cosplayer’s skills as the footage spread across anime communities.
“Himmel would do the same,” one top commenter said.
“It’s paramount that if you cosplay Himmel, you must act heroic,” another chimed in.
This is a welcome change from some other viral cosplayer incidents that have happened lately. Last year, cosplay influencer Kit Noel was arrested after allegedly threatening to plant a bomb at a Texas anime convention during a feud over an energy drink brand.
In another wild incident, police officers in Melbourne rushed to a shopping center after reports of a knife-wielding man turned out to be a Demon Slayer fan in cosplay.
