Chinese AI video model Seedance 2.0 is taking the internet by storm with its ability to create new anime episodes of Dragon Ball, Pokemon, and more.

AI video has been evolving at a rapid pace with new models providing new tools, audio, and getting better at generating something that looks authentic.

While there have been some impressive models before, Seedance 2.0 might be in a league of its own.

The app, developed by TikTok parent company ByteDance, is capable of taking manga panels and fully animating them, resulting in new episodes of anime series, such as Dragon Ball Super’s Moro arc.

Seedance 2.0 is making new Dragon Ball episodes and Olympic videos

Across social media, users have been going viral showcasing the ways they’ve used Seedance 2.0.

In one clip, a user took a panel from the Dragon Ball Super manga, primarily the Moro arc that only recently confirmed to actually be in production.

Just one prompt later, they were able to bring the manga panels to life.

“Just animated a whole new manga panel of Dragon Ball which has not yet been animated by any humans, and the result is clearly INSANE,” they said.

The clip showed Goku, in his Ultra Instinct form, doing battle with Moro. While there were some obvious indications that it was ripped from the manga, such as text appearing on screen, it’s still extremely impressive.

Another user depicted a classic Dragon Ball World Martial Arts Tournament scene with Goku fighting the odd opponent of Doraemon.

“Prompt: ‘Figure 1 character fighting against Figure 2 character in the World Martial Arts Tournament’ Additional input image,” the user revealed how they made the video, which has been viewed over 2.3M times.

It too was unique, with multiple camera shots and smooth animation.

In yet another example, someone put together a wild battle scene with Bulma and Beerus that lasts for over 90 seconds. Who knew Bulma could put up such a fight with a God of Destruction?

Other clips went just as viral. One, with over 600,000 views, depicts multiple Pokemon battles and it looks ripped from right out of the anime.

Elsewhere, users generated videos of the Olympics and other sports with simple prompts.

Seedance 2.0 is still in its infancy, but given the results so far, it’s anyone’s guess how advanced it will be by the time 3.0 rolls out.
