MrBeast crew members Chandler Hollow and Majd have opened up about how they handle criticism of the channel’s massive projects, especially during moments of controversy.

Speaking on the Around the Bar podcast, Chandler said he’s learned not to respond when negativity surfaces. “I get criticized sometimes, but I never give them that entertainment,” he said. “No matter what Jimmy does, people are going to say something.”

Majd, who starred in the viral weight-loss challenge video that reached over 200 million views, said he faced similar waves of negativity after his story went live.

“We’re real people, we have emotions”

“People still found a way to make it negative,” he said. “Some of the clicks were crazy, man. A lot of sick comments, bro. Like, we would never play with anyone’s life, and for people to say that, you’re a sick individual for even thinking that.”

He described the online reaction as “rage baiting,” explaining that even moments meant to be inspiring are twisted into drama. “They’re so desensitized to the real world,” he said. “We’re real people. We have emotions, we have feelings.”

The discussion came as the pair reflected on the death of Coach Wall, Majd’s trainer, during the challenge. Viewers saw Wall become a key part of the story before his sudden death, which added emotional weight to one of MrBeast’s most personal uploads to date.

Majd revealed that before the video was released, the team worked closely with Coach Wall’s loved ones. “When you have a video like this, obviously you want to respect the family,” he said. “Ultimately, it comes down to Coach Wall’s family. They gave us that blessing.”

He added that there were serious conversations about how to include the story respectfully. “There would have been a world where that wasn’t a thing,” he said. “Obviously, his family and friends would have known, but the public might not have.”

Despite the intense scrutiny that comes with any MrBeast project, Chandler said the crew’s approach is to stay focused on the people involved and ignore the noise. “You can’t control how people twist things,” he said. “So you just keep going.”

For Majd, the goal was always about honoring his coach and sharing something real. “I went through it, finished it, praise God,” he said. “A lot of people sacrificed a lot of time. And here we are today.”
