Burger King’s new SpongeBob SquarePants menu is disappearing fast. The chain confirmed to Dexerto that some restaurants are already running low on items just days after launch.

The limited-time collab rolled out on December 2 with a full lineup that includes SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper, Mr. Krabs’ Cheesy Bacon Tots, Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie, and the Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float.

Packaging, crowns, and toys tied to the upcoming ‘Search for SquarePants’ movie pushed early interest even higher, as fans rushed to try the themed items.

Burger King responds to sellouts

In a statement to Dexerto and a post on Instagram, Burger King acknowledged the rapid demand and confirmed that restocks are already underway.

“The SpongeBob menu has been swimming off trays faster than Gary can chase it,” they said. “Since the menu launched earlier this week, Guests have been diving in in a big way, and some restaurants are running low on items.

“Additional supplies are on the way to restaurants early next week, and our Team Members are working hard behind the grill to keep the Bikini Bottom fun going. This is a limited-time collaboration and items are available only while supplies last, so availability can vary by location.”

The SpongeBob meal does not have an announced end date, and Burger King reiterated that the entire promotion is while supplies last. With restocks incoming, the chain expects stores to be replenished quickly, though the company notes that demand may continue to vary from market to market.

Burger King isn’t the only company that’s announced a SpongeBob collab ahead of the December 19 movie release. Crocs is set to release a Squidward-themed clog that comes complete with the character’s face molded on the front.
