Burger King is testing a new Whopper that puts a breakfast-inspired spin on its signature burger.

The Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper is rolling out in select locations, offering an egg-topped Whopper as part of a limited regional test.

The sandwich features a quarter-pound beef patty topped with bacon, an egg patty, cheddar cheese sauce, hash browns, and hollandaise aioli on a sesame seed bun.

The limited release was first spotted by fast food-focused Instagram account Snackolator on Thursday, January 8. The burger is currently being tested at locations in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Portland, Oregon.

Online menus for participating locations list the Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper for $7.99, with a Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper Jr. priced at $4.79. Both items appear under the Limited Time Only section.

The test also brings a menu change. With the Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper available, Burger King’s hash browns can be ordered all day at participating locations. The side is typically limited to breakfast hours.

It remains unclear if or when the Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper will receive a nationwide rollout. Burger King has not confirmed broader availability.

Another new Whopper is already nationwide

While the breakfast-inspired Whopper is limited to test markets, Burger King recently launched a different new burger nationwide.

The Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper debuted on January 6. It features a 4.4-ounce beef patty topped with onion rings, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and peppercorn aioli.

The burger is the latest winner from Burger King’s Whopper by You program, which allows fans to submit custom burger ideas. According to the chain, the Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper beat more than 600,000 submissions to earn a spot on national menus.
