Bride & groom gifted high-end PC parts as prices soar amid shortages

A wedding in Turkey went viral after the bride and groom were gifted RAM sticks, a GPU, and even a processor for a high-end PC.

Instead of traditional presents like jewelry or home essentials, two guests showed up with components you’d normally find inside a high-end gaming rig.

Things really kicked off when one of them walked up to the groom with a GeForce RTX 5090 draped in red ribbons and placed it around his neck.

And his gift to the bride was just as exciting. As spotted by Tom’s Hardware, she received a quad-channel DDR5 RAM kit neatly wrapped in ribbons from the same person.

Newlyweds go viral for receiving high-end PC parts as gifts

For the record, many GeForce RTX 5090 models are currently sitting between $2,900 and $3,800 on Nvidia’s official site. And that’s before resellers push it up even higher.

Throw in the high-end DDR5 kit the bride got, a full four sticks, and the total stacks up pretty quickly. Interestingly, though, that’s not all there is to it.

Another guest later handed them an Intel Core Ultra processor. At that point, it’s safe to say they were basically a few parts short of a full dream PC build.

Both the groom and the bride were clearly thrilled. It’s not exactly diamonds, but who could blame them?

Things have been getting more expensive as of late, with RAM and other components facing shortages and prices creeping up due to AI demand. It’s already at the point where it’s not just affecting PCs either.

Just look at the Steam Deck as a recent example, going out of stock in multiple regions. Even Nintendo said they’ll “carefully consider” the Switch 2 pricing amid rising memory costs.

So when people in the comments of the clip called the gift-giver a “blood brother” or “a real friend,” it just makes sense.
