Police in Los Angeles are investigating after a body was discovered inside a Tesla registered to singer and Fortnite collaborator D4vd.

David ‘D4vd’ Burke rose to prominence with tracks including “Here With Me” and “Romantic Homicide.” He made Fortnite history by releasing “Locked & Loaded,” the game’s first-ever official anthem, which debuted just before the 2025 Fortnite Global Champions that took place September 6-7 in France. The track was introduced as a purchasable cosmetic in-game, further cementing his ties to Epic Games.

In addition to his music career, Burke is also signed as a content creator and musician with the esports and lifestyle organization 100 Thieves. His debut album was released in 2024.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a tow yard in Hollywood on Monday, September 8, after receiving reports of a foul odor from an impounded car. Inside the vehicle’s front trunk, authorities located human remains sealed inside a bag. The car had been at the lot for several days before the discovery.

Officials told Eyewitness News that the 2023 Tesla is registered to David Burke. The 20-year-old artist is currently on his “Withered” world tour, with upcoming stops in Minneapolis and Los Angeles.

Police have not released details on the identity of the person found or the circumstances that led to the remains being inside the vehicle. The LAPD investigation is ongoing.
