A bank robber in Texas was arrested after trying to steal from the same bank that he had previously robbed almost 10 years before.
Revisiting the scene of a crime is something even the most cliché TV shows and movies try to stay away from. Police searches could still be ongoing, making it highly likely that criminals will be caught not too far from where they committed a crime.
However, Christopher McKay, 43, forgot about that when he allegedly tried to rob the same Fort Worth Wells Fargo bank branch that he’d previously stolen from back in 2016.
As per the Fort Worth Police Department, McKay walked into the bank branch on November 20 and told workers that he had a handgun on him. He then, allegedly, demanded that they hand over cash from locked tills.

The 43-year-old was unsuccessful in getting any money and promptly ran away from the scene.
“He was located nearby and placed in custody. An ambulance was notified as the suspect was going through fentanyl withdrawals,” a spokesperson for Fort Worth Police Department told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
As noted, he had robbed the same bank back in 2016, but was caught shortly after the robbery. McKay served seven years in prison for that heist.
McKay, 43, targeted the same branch.
He currently faces charges of aggravated robbery for the new attempted robbery, and according to the Star-Telegram, no bond has been set to bail McKay from Tarrant County Jail.
Over the same weekend, a thief disguised themselves as a courier to steal $11 million in cryptocurrency in San Francisco. As per the San Francisco Police Department’s report, there is no word on an arrest or if the victim suffered any injuries after they were tied up using duct tape during the armed heist.
