Apple Music has expanded its playlist transfer tool to seven more countries, giving users in the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, and Mexico the ability to move their playlists from rival streaming platforms.

The feature first launched in May across Australia and New Zealand. It allows Apple Music subscribers to bring over user-created playlists, saved songs, and albums from other services, including Spotify. The tool is powered by SongShift, a third-party service known for handling playlist transfers.

Users can access the option by going to Transfer Music from Other Music Services in Apple Music’s settings or through the platform’s web player.

On iOS, the feature appears under Settings > Apps > Music, while Android users can find it through the Apple Music app’s settings menu.

Transfer limitations

The tool only supports playlists made by users and does not carry over platform-generated playlists such as Discover Weekly or Release Radar. During the process, Apple Music attempts to match songs across services. Any unmatched tracks are flagged for review and must be handled manually before the transfer is complete.

The expansion brings the feature to a wider audience after its initial limited rollout, making it easier for subscribers in multiple regions to move their existing music libraries into Apple Music.
