Adam Sandler has spoken out after a viral TikTok spread false claims about an alleged incident involving his daughter, Sadie, inside a Chanel store.

The actor addressed the rumor while speaking to People on the red carpet at an event during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where he was being honored for his career.

At the end of the interview, Adam Sandler responded to a video claiming his 19-year-old daughter had been “publicly humiliated” by a sales associate at Chanel.

Adam Sandler shuts down TikTok clip as “100 percent made up”

“By the way, there’s something on the internet talking about that dumb thing,” Sandler said. “I’ve been hearing about this thing, and I saw it, and it’s just insane. It’s just this made-up, weird thing that people ask me about. And I’m just like, ‘I’ve never heard of this in my life.’ That story was 100 percent insane and made up, and not a word of it is true.”

The TikTok, posted on January 30, 2026, fabricated a story in which a store employee in Beverly Hills supposedly told Sadie she was not allowed to touch certain items. The clip then claimed Sandler responded by buying $312,000 worth of handbags.

Sandler dismissed the claim again while speaking to USA Today, after a friend texted him about the rumor.

“It was one of the weirdest, dumbest, 100 percent made up things,” he said. “I don’t know how that happens.”

While denying the Chanel story, Sandler confirmed another recent viral moment involving a late night fast food run.

“But there’s also some story I heard about me going to an In N Out Burger at midnight and getting a bunch of Double Doubles, and I have to say, that story is true,” he added. “So that one’s true. The other one’s pathetic.”
